Geriatric Dentistry: The Fastest Growing Demographic in Dentistry
Learning Series Summary:
This learning series is all about customizing the patient experience to the majority of those 55 million Americans currently 65 and older along with a predicted growth to 25% of the US population over the next forty years. The ADA in its demographic data have presented that this age group of patients will be a significant driving force for growth in our practices along with the strong need for advanced dental care. This four module series of courses will demonstrate how this unique group creates unique opportunities from both treatment and business aspects.
MODULE THREE: The Restorative Side of Treating Geriatric Patients
This patient population presents to your office with decades of previous dental work and the unique challenges that come with them. This course dives into how best to create today’s initial exam and guide them towards better decision making. From there we will look at today’s restorative materials and treatment options to touch on the multiple options to treat this patient population.
Course Objectives:
- – Today’s initial exam and re-care exam, it is all about information and communication.
- – Why digital scanning is such a valuable technology that adds so much to these exams and is far more than just taking an impression.
- – Understanding why CBCT imaging has become the mainstay for everyday diagnostics for evaluating these patients.
- – Restorative solutions that can include removable, implants along with direct casework.
This course is the third module within a four-part learning series. Registrants can register for all four modules or individual ones within this series a la carte.
