One of the biggest problems with classical shade guides is that they suffer from batch discrepancy, meaning the porcelain produced in one batch does not always match the porcelain from a separate batch.
The “stain-down” technique allows the clinician / technician to maintain a streamlined inventory of temporary material, denture teeth, and ceramic ingots.
The use of light-cured tints + stains is contraindicated for denture base acrylic.
