Course Description:

The goal of the webinar is to provide all members of the dental team with basic knowledge and concepts to ethically and practically bill medical insurance in the dental practice. This includes understanding what medical billing is, how it works and what types of services performed in a dental office are appropriate to bill to medical insurance.


Course Objectives:

  • Gain a basic understanding of medical billing in a dental setting

  • Understand the principals of CPT and ICD-10 coding

  • Learn the importance and integration of SOAP notes

  • Implement medical billing workflow in your office


Dr. Petar Tofovic, DMD, MPH

Petar Tofovic, DMD, MPH – A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Tofovic went on to complete a General Practice Residency (GPR) Program at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. After a few years as an associate, he opened up his 4 operatory PPO dental office in 2011, where he started using Medical Billing in 2014. Dr. Tofovic puts great emphasis on continuing education, research based dentistry and improving the patients dental experience by incorporating the latest applicable technologies and advancements. Led by his passion for technology’s role in dentistry, Dr. Tofovic is also an Adjunct Faculty at the College of Dental Medicine of Illinois at Midwestern University and a Visiting Faculty at the Spear Educational Campus in Scottsdale, AZ and Charlotte, NC.
