Implementing the APA Classification Systems
Hygiene Excellence – What are YOU Missing in Your Practice?
Learning Series Summary:
This four module learning series serves as a guide to effectively identify, evaluate, document, and treat Periodontal Disease Chairside. It also will include how the Periodontist, GP and RDH all work together to ensure positive outcomes when diagnosing and treating periodontal patients.
MODULE TWO: Implementing the APA Classification Systems
Change can be difficult for patients and clinicians. Clinical studies demonstrate the prevalence of Periodontal Disease among our patient populations, yet it is still vastly undertreated by the dental profession. Due to its multi-factorial nature, Periodontal Disease demands a comprehensive approach of treatment recommendations that are critical to the long-term success of the patient. This course is designed to provide a practical implementation specific to the patient’s staging and grading of the latest clinical and homecare innovations.
Course Objectives:
- – Identify how to properly implement the AAP staging and grading into chairside therapy and homecare
- – Investigate the benefits of adjunctive therapies such as lasers, bacterial testing, and probiotics
- – Review the role of the patient’s diet in periodontal management and identify contraindicated foods
This course is the second module within a four-part learning series. Attendees can register for all four modules or individual ones within this series a la carte. There are no prerequisite modules required. This course will not be recorded and shared for on-demand viewing. It is only available live during the scheduled date and time.
