Modern dentistry barely resembles the same profession from only 10 years ago. The new roles, responsibilities, and opportunities for a general practitioner have made this one of the most exciting times for the discipline. In this dynamic lecture, a new perspective of the general dentist will be developed. Knowledge will be shared that can forever differentiate general dentists from their perceived competition by embracing the concepts of comprehensive diagnosis and treatment described in this lecture.
In this lecture, participants will be educated on the following concepts:
• The evolving role of the general dentist as a diagnostician and primary care provider
• The modern technologies that facilitate comprehensive diagnosis for dentists
• The roles of the medical history, airway, joint and aesthetics in the diagnostic process
• Treatment planning and consultation protocols that facilitate case acceptance and referrals
